
Enjoy a festive evening downtown featuring the Chamber’s popular “Live Windows” Contest (4:45-7:00 PM) with creative live scenes and beautifully decorated storefronts. Visit The Purple Door’s Nativity with live animals, meet county officials and enjoy refreshments at the DeKalb Courthouse, and stop by Smithville City Hall for outdoor displays, music, and Christmas doughnuts.
After the parade, warm up with hot soup at Refuge Church (after parade), meet The Grinch and see the Grinch Mobile on West Main Street, and explore West Walnut Street’s live windows, Santa, live music, and outdoor s’mores. A free holiday photo booth will be available inside the courthouse. The Justin-Potter Library hosts Santa photos and children’s crafts from 6:00–7:00 PM.
Guests can enjoy the First United Methodist Church Nativity Walkthrough (4:45–6:45 PM), join Christmas carolers around the square, and take advantage of extended holiday shopping until 8 PM (or until the last customer leaves). The evening concludes with a dazzling light display at the Evins Park Open-Air Stage.
